Much Asphalt has developed state-of-the-art technology for the automation, operation and process control of its asphalt plants.

Based on wholly South African designs, systems installed are capable of ensuring highest quality products in compliance with the ISO 9000 quality management system, in place throughout Much Asphalt.

Plants

Much Asphalt procures and installs state of the art technology and ensures that continuity of supply is always assured by implementing high level maintenance management and process control systems.

This philosophy ensures that all products supplied are fit for purpose, offers flexibility and versatility to its stakeholders, and is supported by teams of technically competent people.

Laboratories

Situated near Cape Town in Eerste River, the Much Asphalt central laboratory offers the following services to its branches:

• Raw material investigations for new contracts.
  
  
• Execution of mix designs.
  
  
• Setting up of production quality, laboratory systems and calibration of plants on mobile contracts.
  
  
• Ensuring compliance with ISO 9002 requirements at branch laboratories.
  
  
• In-service training of new technicians.
  
  
• Calibration of site laboratory equipment.
  
  
• Carrying out inter-laboratory comparative analysis testing to identify repeatability and reproducibility problems, both internally and in collaboration with customers’ laboratories.
  
  
• Resolving product problems.

• Procurement of conventional and specialist laboratory equipment.
